Our Children’s Center has expanded into three locations because of the high demand of excellence that we strive for while enriching our children as they grow. We are seeking individuals who have a love for God and a passion for working with children.
We currently have a need for a part-time Art Teacher for our Preschool/PreK Program. This position would only be 6-8 hours a week and is a great opportunity for those seeking a career in Art Education.
Position Purpose:
The Art Teacher has responsibility for developing and implementing age-appropriate art curriculum for Preschool-Kindergarten, teaching the fundamentals of art and organizing art activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creating and implementing lesson plans that introduce young children to various art concepts, techniques and materials like drawing, painting, sculpting, etc.
- Teaching foundational art skills and techniques suitable for preschool and Kindergarten-aged children, fostering creativity and self-expression.
- Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy learning environment, ensuring the proper use and storage of art materials.
- Creates an environment in which children can learn in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the church and center.
- Treats each child with dignity and respect.
- Maintains professional conduct in working with staff as well as visitors and the general public.
- Comply with OK Department of Human Services Licensing guidelines and requirements.
Position Details:
- Schedule is flexible but would ideally be 1-2 days a week, 6-8 hours a week
- High school diploma/GED required
- Vocational Certification or higher education degree in related field is preferred
- 6 months to a 1 year of teaching experience preferred
- Must be able to pass an Oklahoma State required finger print/background check
