Our Child Development Center has expanded into four locations because of the high demand of excellence that we strive for while enriching our children as they grow. We are seeking individuals who have a love for God and a passion for working with children.
 
Position Details:
As a teacher for St. Luke’s you will be given the opportunity to create a learning environment for children that is both educational and nurturing. Our teachers work in a partnership with families ensuring children build strong relationships in the classroom and at home. Our curriculum is enhanced with hands on learning that is developmentally appropriate for each child’s individual needs. 
  • The Center’s operating hours are M- F from 6:30AM – 6:00PM
  • High school diploma/GED required (summer positions available for 16 and older)
  • 6 months to a 1 year of teaching experience preferred (willing to train)
  • An understanding of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
  • Must be able to pass a Oklahoma State required finger print/background check
  • Must meet Oklahoma State requirements for annual education and additional center requirements
 Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  • Teach and care for children using the teaching styles and techniques in accordance with National Accreditation Commission (NAC) and as explained through the New Employee Orientation process once employed.
  • Communicate daily information with families regarding the needs and progress of each child.
  • Use appropriate tools to develop and create lesson plans
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and challenges as children develop. 
  • Comply with OK Department of Human Services Licensing, Oklahoma Health Department, and USDA-CACF guidelines and requirements.
Accountability:
  • Must be able to assume frequent positions including crawling, bending and kneeling at least 50% of the scheduled work time.
  • Must be able to lift children, engage in floor activities, singing, and playing indoors/outdoors.
